003: Enneagram Pt. 2 with Dani Cooper

003: Enneagram Pt. 2 with Dani Cooper

Welcome back to Part 2 of our conversation regarding the Enneagram. In Part 1 we talked about the 9 different personality types on the Enneagram, and today we are back with our guest Dani Cooper of Deep Waters Enneagram. Today, we're talking about the ways various types might function in relationships, and how you might observe the types in family dynamics. You can learn more about her coaching at www.deepwatersenneagram.com

Follow her on Instagram at @deepwaters enneagram

After my talk with Dani, we dive into listener questions in the 3 categories of Makeup, Motherhood and the Trish Mix. Today, we're talking about blending makeup, motherhood role models and

My top books of 2020, in no particular order:

First--the ones mentioned in this episode:

Get Out of your Head Jennie Allen- If you struggle with anxiety, this is a must-read for you.

The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer—If the rhythms of your life feel out of whack and no longer serve you, I encourage you to read this book and embrace new rhythms.

Confronting Christianity by Rebecca McLaughlin—If you are a Christian who finds yourself wrestling with the hard questions like “How Can you Say there’s only one true faith”, Doesn’t Religion Cause Violence” and How could a Loving God allow so much suffering” this book will walk you through thoughtful responses. With a PhD from Oxford, author McLaughlin brings a rigorous intellectual approach to questions regarding faith

Be The Bridge by Latasha Morrison What does it look like to pursue justice for all people from a biblical perspective? After the killing of George Floyd, a black man, by a white police officer in Minneapolis caused tensions to erupt in the US and around the world, I found my eyes opened to the injustices present in our American society, the church, and the world. Figuring out my role in bringing about justice and learning how to be anti-racist is an on-going journey that I feel I am overdue in starting, but I am starting, and this book can help you get started, too.

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson—this book wrecked me because I was just unaware of how unjust our justice system is. I had to take breaks from reading it because the true stories contained in it are heartbreaking—when we read books like this they should move us to action, and Stevenson’s writing will compel you to want to be a part of bringing true justice to life for all people.

Enjoy Every Minute by Becky Baudouin this book is a gift to moms of all ages, and reading it feels like spending time with an encouraging friend. Becky addresses cliched phrases that are meant to help moms, but instead prove disheartening, like “Enjoy Every Minute, because the time goes so fast!” and responds with Biblical insights and compelling stories that provide true encouragement.

Novels: while I read mostly non-fiction this year, a few novels stood out and are worth your time.

    Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

    Still Life by Louise Penny

A Place for Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza

Check out my Instagram post from NYE for even more books I loved this past year! Leave me a voice message if you have a book you'd like to recommend or share!
