    What’s Up, Runners!

Welp, after five incredible years filled with amazing guests, enlightening conversations, and more fun than we ever thought we’d have, we’ve decided to sunset The BibRave Podcast. Today's episode is #260 and the Grand Finale!

We originally created the show as a way for BibRave to contribute to the larger conversation around running, hoping to find and connect with new people, stories, and movements. After 260 episodes we feel so blessed to check every one of those boxes several times over. We’ve chatted with some of the biggest names in running, helped elevate stories that were under-represented or under-appreciated, and we’ve learned so much from all of our guests and listeners. Tim, Jess, and all of the rotating cast of characters are so grateful for the time you’ve spent with us in your ears, and we’re going to miss chatting you up through all those miles.

Why are we ending the show? Well, that’s what Episode 260 is all about. Tim and Jess talk about the larger business demands at BibRave, and how it’s truly incumbent upon us to evolve and focus on our growing business needs. As the saying goes, “We can do anything we want, we just can’t do everything we want.”

Thank you again for being a loyal listener and supporter of The BibRave Podcast. We are so, so appreciative of all the time you’ve given us over the years, and we’ll miss you all. Until we meet again IRL!

    Understanding Pandemic Flux Syndrome

    Understanding Pandemic Flux Syndrome

    What’s Up, Runners!

Here’s the latest episode of The BibRave Podcast, featuring long-time guest and our leading source for improved mental health, Dr. Justin Ross!

Dr. Ross is a clinical psychologist specializing in health and wellness psychology, human performance, and sport psychology. He’s a regular on The BibRave Podcast and has been the star of some of our favorite episodes.

Today, Tim and Jess talk with Dr. Ross about Pandemic Flux Syndrome - the phenomenon we’re all experiencing the features starkly different sets and ranges and types of feelings — dulled emotions followed by anxiety and depressive spikes, the need to drastically change something about our lives, basically a teeter-totter of emotions.

Dr. Ross helps us define and control the negative elements of Pandemic Flux Syndrome, providing interesting points of reflection and action items to take control of our minds and emotions.

This episode is sponsored by and features a really cool interview with the Founder of MANTRA Labs, Paul Janowitz. MANTRA Labs is a Texas-based nutrition brand with a social mission to improve mental health resources. MANTRA Labs hydrates better with an industry-leading 1,200+ mg of 6 electrolytes (natural oceanic electrolytes, marine minerals and vitamins) but NO sugar and nothing artificial.

Listen to the end to hear Jess chat with Paul about MANTRA Labs as a company and sports supplement brand. As Jess and Tim discuss in the intro, MANTRA Labs has some pretty powerful options in their nutritional arsenal, so definitely check them out for your hydration, sleep, or energy needs!

    What’s Up, Runners!

We’re stoked to bring you the latest episode of The BibRave Podcast, featuring Knockaround Founder, Adam “Ace” Moyer!

In a How I Built This-styled episode, Tim chats with Ace and Liam Norman (leading voice of the brand) about the company's founding over 15 years ago and what makes the brand tick. It’s a delightful convo featuring two really thoughtful but laid-back guys who are clearly working exactly where they should be.

Founded in 2005 when Ace was studying visual arts at UC-San Diego, Knockaround started from humble yet inspiring beginnings, eventually becoming a multi-million dollar lifestyle brand and business. #257: Vegan? Vegetarian? Do We Need to Choose?

    What’s Up, Runners!
For this week’s episode of The BibRave Podcast, we’re bringing back our resident dietician and badass runner extraordinaire, Katie Hynes!!
Tim, Jess, and Katie talk about a lot of diet-related issues, but they really focus on vegan and vegetarian diets. There are a lot of misconceptions about each, both positive and negative, and the three talk through the nuances of how each diet can work for runners. And for all the omnivores out there (like Tim & Jess), there’s a lot of great overall nutrition advice too!
They discuss why Katie had been vegan for so long but is now “flexitarian,” where most vegans and vegetarians get their protein, and the importance of complete proteins, specific protein powders, leucine, and other key nutrients.

#256: Behind the Scenes of the Weirdest Olympics Ever

#256: Behind the Scenes of the Weirdest Olympics Ever

    What’s Up, Runners!

We have such a fun and interesting episode of The BibRave Podcast that we decided to give it to you early! Tim and Jess are talking with Jay Holder, recently back from the Tokyo Olympics where he worked as Deputy Venue Media Manager for the Olympic Stadium. In this episode, Jay gives us the inside scoop on what can only be called the weirdest Olympics ever!

Jay’s duties in Tokyo covered everything from building out press operations (for all Athletics competition as well as Opening/Closing Ceremonies), coordinating press seats for each Athletics competition, moderating all post-competition medal press conferences, and so much more! Jay also works as Marketing and Communications Director for the Atlanta Track Club, so his experience and skills were perfectly suited to support the Olympics in a COVID world.

Jay’s high-level role in coordinating media and athlete interviews throughout the Tokyo Olympics gave him the perfect access to all of the best “behind the scenes” stories. He was in Tokyo for 9 weeks total, the first 16 days of which were under an extremely strict quarantine. Jay did an amazing job sharing his experience in real time via his Instagram account, and we’re thrilled that he was able to chat with us to share more details! If you love the Olympics, you are definitely going to want to give this one a listen!
