The Sweet Science Podcast | Ep. 64 | Anthony Joshua Is BACK, But Is It Enough? Tyson Fury or Dillian Whyte Next?

Anthony Joshua, Olympic Gold medallist and former 2 time Heavyweight champion of the world returned to the ring in his first non-world title fight since 2015. His opponent, a very tough yet somewhat unknown Jermaine Franklin. Joshua got the win as he said he would, but it wasn't the performance most expected. Joshua seemed gun shy and unwilling to engage in the first half of the fight, utilising mainly his jab the majority of the time and not really following up with much more.

The action picked up from the 9th onwards and AJ ended up with the UD in a comfortable win, but not a comfortable fight in the slightest. This was his 3rd trainer in 3 fights and very little could be told about the success of this change, but AJ was happy enough with it to agree to head back to Texas and resume training with him for the foreseeable future.

He called for Tyson Fury next, but is that a step too far too early for the former champ?

Are AJ's glory days behind him or is he on the road to redemption?
