#003 - Financial Fair Play and Global Football Finances

We were shocked by the CAS decision to overturn Man City's Champions League ban which more or less nullified the integrity of FFP. But, research into FFP and football's financial world led us to see that the financial problems in football are much deeper than just FFP - they're systematic problems. So, in this podcast, you'll listen to how FFP came to be, its loopholes & problems, and various ownership models in football. So give it a listen and understand how money is taking over the beautiful game - we won't blame you if you feel that something's lost in modern football!

    #002 - Lacklustre La Liga

    #002 - Lacklustre La Liga

In recent years, La Liga teams have started to play a style that's less and less dependent on ball possession and accurate passes than during the Spanish national team's glory years from 2008 to 2012. In very recent seasons, La Liga teams have also fluffed major transfers, and shown signs of dwindling their dominance in Europe. There has always been talk about referees and how their decisions have impacted the Spanish League, and with the introduction of VAR, controversies have not reduced.

Join Mihir and Shree for the second episode of TIFCast, where we take a look at La Liga's issues and also note some phenomenal wonderkids with potential to be world class emerging from there.

#001 - European Leagues and Project Restart

The Bundesliga restarted in mid-May. Since then, other major leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A) have also followed in its footsteps and chosen to restart the 2019-20 season after the imposed break. In the Bundesliga, early matches were dull and boring as players suffered from fitness issues and teams struggled to find their rhythm. The lack of home fans also had an effect on majority of the matches. We're already seeing similar issues pop up in the Premier League and La Liga. In this episode, we take a look at these on-pitch issues and also take a look at leagues who have chosen to curtail their season. Listen to the episode and let us know how you feel!
