    In this podcast - PART TWO of THE LAST DAY AT THE GUILD - you can hear :-
    Rushen Silver Band with American Trilogy - taken from their Brass Band Concert Class, winning performance. They're conducted by John Kinley and Rushen band member Martin Norbury won the award for the Best Soloist.
    The winners of the Community Choir class were Aalin Clague's Yn Choraa - this is their full programme
    Lon Vane Ladies Choir won the Female Voice Choir Class - there was a set test piece for all choirs, followed by items of their own choice to a total maximum time limit of 12 minutes. Listen to Lon Vane singing the test piece - "As You Sing" - their Musical Director is Christine Bregazzi and the percussion is provided by Jane Creer
    Manx Voices are next, with two pieces from their Choir Concert Class entry - a song with a story which will be explained by the choir's Musical Director Angela Stewart, and this is followed by "Didn't It Rain" The choir's accompanist is Julie Brew.
    Platform Primaries won the Action Song Class with "Big Red Plane"
    Ealish Creer won the Folk Song Class for 14 to 18 year olds, with "There Were Roses"
    There's another chance to hear the winners of the Duet Class, Anna Tamarova and Cristl Stitt, singing "True Colours" from Trolls by Steinberg/Kelly
    Then there's some amazing violin playing by class-winner Frank Joughin, followed by part of the performance by the IOM Arts Council Community Choir, singing "They Can't Take That Away From Me" Their Musical Director is Mandy Griffin, and the accompanist is David Holland
    Each day of classes during Guild Week concludes with the singing of the National Anthem - so in similar spirit, we complete this programme with Manx Voices Triads singing Harry Pickard's arrangement of Ellan Vannin MV Triads are Mel Keating, Angela Gerrard and Elisa Gerrard

    A lively instrumental opening from Skimmee Kiaull - and as this is a review programme and might be the only Guild podcast you've heard, there's a chance to hear the big winners again - Breesha Kelsey, winner of the Sheffield Plate (and the brand new Sheffield Medal!) and Neil Taverner, winner of the 2024 Cleveland Medal.
    Karen Elliot and Matthew Quinn were the winners of the Vocal Duet Final and were awarded The Billown Rose Bowl - you can hear them sing "The Magic Chase" accompanied by Gareth Moore
    There's another chance to hear the Most Entertaining Performance from the Songs from the Shows as Simon Fletcher takes on the role of Professor Higgins, from My Fair Lady.
    Katie Lawrence conducted Kirk Michael Primary School choir to victory in the Choir Class for Schools with less than 150 pupils on the register - "Almost There" is part of their class-winning performance.
    There was great support for the Community Choirs Class - Gobbag Groove sing a special adaptation of 'Cornwall My Home' which has become "Our Island, Our Home"
    Glenfaba Chorale were the winners of the Choir Concert Class - this is one part of their winning performance - "Perhaps Love". The choir is conducted by Muriel Corkish and the accompanist is Jean James.
    There's another chance to hear the winner of the Songs from the Shows - Graham Crowe singing "Those Canaan Days" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat accompanied by David Holland
    and we finish PART ONE with a class-winning piano solo from Anna Tamarova

    Graham Crowe - winner of Songs from the Shows - sings "Those Canaan Days" from 'Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' accompanied by David Holland.
    Lois Mooney - placed 2nd in the Songs from the Shows - sings "Fly Fly Away' from 'Catch Me If You Can' accompanied by David Holland
    Ballacottier Primary School Girls Choir under the direction of Katie Lawrence won the Girls' Choir Class for up to age 11 - singing "Top Of the World"
    In the adult Pop Song Class, Katie Lawrence came second, singing "Angel" accompanied by David Holland
    Aalish Kilgallon won her Plucked String Class, with three beautiful harp pieces - Our Ship Did Sail, Three Little Boats and Moirrey ny Cainle
    And just as the show was ending, the winner of the Cleveland Medal 2024 was announced - it's Neil Taverner -so there is another chance to hear him sing part of his winning performance - The Apple Orchard by Lori Laitman, accompanied by Madeline Kelly.
    And we finish with the winner of the Most Entertaining Performance in the Songs from the Shows - Simon Fletcher as Professor Higgins, singing 'I'm an ordinary man" from My Fair Lady

    Orry Wilson - winner of the Boys Solo class for 15 - 18 year olds, singing 'When you're feeling like expressing your affection" by Britten - accompanied by Madeline Kelly
    Penny Lavery earns her place in the Sheffield Plate competition by singing 'How Lucky You Are" by Flaherty and Ahrens, accompanied by Madeline Kelly. Penny won the Sheffield Plate in 2023
    Breesha Kelsey sings a Gershwin classic "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise" accompanied by Madeline Kelly. Her win in the Girls Solo voice class for 14 and 15 year olds means that she's earned a place in the Sheffield Plate final. This will be the fourth time that Breesha has qualified for the final - the first time was ten years ago, and the set song was all about a dog called Spot!
    The fine soprano Emily Coates wins the Operatic Solo Class for adults, singing an aria from Bizet's The Pearl Fishers, accompanied by Frank Woolley
    Another soprano, Erin White, was placed second in the same class, singing an aria from Mozart's Don Giovanni - also accompanied by Frank Woolley
    Victoria McLauchlan won the Pop Song Class with 'Can't Help Falling in Love With You' accompanied by David Holland.
    Simon Fletcher took second place in the same class with Don McLean's song - 'And I Love You So' also accompanied by David Holland.
    Chris Callow - winner of the Intermediate Organ Class held in St Thomas's Church - plays Prelude in a Classic Style by Gordon Young
    Eve Puzzar wins the Girls Solo Class for 16 to 18 year olds, singing "Habanera" from Bizet's Carmen - accompanied by Madeline Kelly.
    Cristl Stitt and Anna Tamarova win the Duet Class for 12 to 18 year olds, with "True Colours" from 'Trolls' by Steinberg/Kelly
    And we finish with some class-winning piano playing from Eva Griffiths
