He Is Risen: Why I Am a Christian

Take the challenge to read and listen to Bible teaching, examining whether or not the things that Jesus foretold of Himself were manipulated or true before throwing away the hope of life eternal.  John 11:23-26 1 Corinthians 15:3-4  VF-1970

The Battle for Your Soul and the Concept of Commitment

The Battle for Your Soul and the Concept of Commitment

There is a battle for your soul, and it is dangerous to fail to understand the enemy is always there. A target is on your back when you open your mouth and make a commitment. When our committedness or our attitude towards our commitment changes, we open up the door for the devil to pick us off. We must treat Christ as our fort, our place of resistance, and recognize that putting on the full armor of God means putting on Christ, who fortifies us from the inside. When we mess up, we need to get up again and learn from the last time. VF-2245 Ephesians 6:10-17

What Brings On the Wrath of God?

What Brings On the Wrath of God?

God loves His children, but His wrath is provoked when people, in rebellion, fail to acknowledge Him. There are consequences to sin. We were all children of disobedience, but Christ bore the wrath that was due us, and we are covered when we put our trust in Him. The outpouring of God's wrath lets us know that our trust is not in vain, and His word will stand.  Who Baked the Cake?  People that refuse to acknowledge God as Creator of all things, claim that life just happened like a cake that baked itself. VF-2298  Colossians 3:6-7

    The Biblical Concept of Forgiveness

    The Biblical Concept of Forgiveness

It is difficult to forgive others if we fail to understand how much God has forgiven us. Unwillingness to forgive others drives a wedge between us and God and begins to close off the channel of communication with Him. We must completely let go of the wrongs that were done against us, just as Christ forgave us. If we walk in the Spirit, we will be able to let go and forgive in time. VF-2302 Colossians 3:12-14

    Approved Title: Christ

    Approved Title: Christ

Yom Kippur, known in the English as the Day of Atonement was an Old Testament system that provided covering for the people’s sin for the past year.  This system failed because people need more than a covering.  The good news is when we study this set time through the eyes of Christ, we can see that He fulfilled it, and because of His sacrifice we are washed and cleansed from all of our sin, not just simply covered.      VF-2302

Onesimus: From Runaway Slave to Fellow Laborer in the Lord

Onesimus: From Runaway Slave to Fellow Laborer in the Lord

Onesimus put distance between his master, Philemon, and himself. This disobedience created a debt that he had no way of repaying. Through contact with Paul, Onesimus finally went back and became a fellow laborer. The hardest thing to do sometimes is to go back to the place where you failed and start over. Onesimus reminds us there is always a way home. Like the prodigal, there is always enough bread in the Father's house to spare, because we all stand in the same place: sinners being saved by grace. VF-2079  Philemon
