William Asa Hutchinson II was born in Bentonville, AR in 1950. Attending law school at the University of Arkansas, Asa practiced as an attorney and businessman for 21 years. In 1982, President Ronald Reagan appointed Hutchinson as the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Arkansas. At the age of 31, Hutchinson was the nation's youngest U.S. attorney. It wasn’t until 1997 that Asa became an elected politician to the Arkansas House of Representatives, occupying his brother Tim’s former seat, as a member of the Republican Party. In 2014, Mr. Hutchinson defeated his democratic opponent Mike Ross and became the 46th governor of Arkansas, serving from 2015 to 2023. Throughout his career, as has also served as Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration and Undersecretary for the Border and Transportation Security division of the DHS under President George W. Bush. As a businessman, Asa has seen success with the founding of a consulting firm, Hutchinson Group, LLC., and through investments in an acquisition company in the homeland security industry.

Mr. Ellis is an environmental scientist by day, a fiddler in a country band by night and has turned his passion for rivers into a business by founding Rock Town River Outfitters, in Little Rock’s River Market District, on the Arkansas River.

Rock Town River Outfitters rents bikes and kayaks for experiencing the Arkansas River from above on the 15-mile River Trail or afloat in the Arkansas River’s current (it is not as dangerous as it sounds).

Today we’re going to dive (LOL, pun intended) into the risks and rewards of kayaking on the big river, talk about the downtown tours his company offers, get his take on the environmental impact we humans are having on mother earth and find out where his band The Cons of Formant play.

Raeann Wilson was born in Cabot, AR. As the surgical coordinator at Shewmake Plastic Surgery, Raeann has extensive knowledge in surgical processes and patient care. This all gave her the skill and inspiration to create Zen Infusion, offering mobile, on-demand IV infusion therapy that serves a number of needs for the people of Central Arkansas.

Kris Shewmake, M.D., FACS was born in Pine Bluff, AR. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Hendrix College in Conway and a master’s degree in natural science from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He received his medical degree from UAMS, where he also completed a residency in general surgery. He was president of his class and elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society (top 10% of the class). His eight years of surgical training after medical school included a General Surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Medical Center and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency in Dallas at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Shewmake entered private practice in 1996 and was named Best Plastic Surgeon in Arkansas by his colleagues in 1999 and 2009.
