Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Four!

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Four!

I didn't forget about you all! It's just been a very slow two months, in terms of things to say.

In this episode, I read chapter one from the beginning of a novel I started a couple years back. Since I don't know where to take the plot, it's stalled out, but still...I like it. Let me know what you all think.

Closing music is Tom Waits and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band performing "Tootie Ma Is a Big Fine Thing" from the album "Preservation: An Album To Benefit Preservation Hall & The Preservation Hall Music Outreach Program." It's awesome and you should buy it. End of discussion.

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Three

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Three

In episode three, I ramble for a bit, and then gradually focus on the fact that my blog is celebrating its first anniversary. I share some crazy tunes from Raymond Scott's album, "Manhattan Research, Inc." and blather on a little more. I also imitate George Clooney. Sort of.

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Two!

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Two!

Holy carp, I actually made a second podcast! Who would have thought?! This one sees me reading a couple more previous posts, and goofing around at the end. I really do model these things subconsciously on Wil Wheaton's Radio Free Burrito podcasts.

Why yes, I had been sipping a drink or two before recording this...however did you guess?

Some of the music is from a long defunct album from "Customusic" featured on the WFMU Beware of the Blog a while back. Intro track is "Fly Me to the Moon" performed by B. Howard and closing music is "Mambo at the Zenda" by R. V. Gill. The music underscoring the two posts is by Williamson, the first is called "an hour in" from his album "a few things to hear before we all blow up" and the second is called "The Art of Non-Life-Threatening Mistakes" from his second album, "The Trashcan Electric - E.P." Check out his site at www.williamsonsound.com. Enjoy!

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode One?!

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode One?!

Yep. I'm podcasting. I explain a little about the blog, I read the very first entry, and I utterly confuse everyone on the way.

Why yes, I had been sipping a libation before recording this...why do you ask?

Music is from a long defunct album from "Customusic" featured on the WFMU Beware of the Blog a while back. Intro track is "Fly Me to the Moon" performed by B. Howard, underscore is "Misty" performed by E. Garner, and closing music is "Mambo at the Zenda" by R. V. Gill. Enjoy!
