Engineer, musician, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and natural hair guru; Jodie Dublin-Dangleben is a Civil and Environmental Engineer by day and a Jill of all Trades at night. She is a creative and innovative soul at heart and has a unique knack for creating masterpieces from her hands; from her intriguing hairstyles and hair accessories to her addictive hair crack, whipped shea butter.
Jodie is currently employed within the Ministry of Public Works and Ports in Dominica as a civil engineer. Her daring and go-getter attitude has led her behind the wheels of concrete trucks, excavators and bobcats.
As the CEO of Jaydee’s Naturals, she promotes sustainable beauty through her line of all-natural and organic hair and skin products; whipped shea butter with natural and local oils, hair moisturizer, moisturizing black soap shampoo and a local coffee and cocoa brown sugar scrub, and her turmeric and clay hair mask.
The first company to bring a line of natural vegan lipsticks and cacoa lip balms. Her company is the perfect matchmaker, marrying indigenous herbal and remedial culture with modern cosmetic formulation to create unique, high quality and effective products made from local and sustainably sourced ingredients. These natural products feel luxurious and smell divine, with product prices ranging from XCD$25 to XCD$45 dollars.
She has received many awards including the first 767 Girls Rock awards for her creativity and was valedictorian of the WINC (Women Innovators Network In The Caribbean) programme.
She has transformed the small business culture on the island with her creative marketing strategies. She has made many appearances as a motivational speaker at various schools and youth groups and appeals to youth, especially to our young ladies, encouraging them to realize their dreams and to tap into their talents and skills to become women and men of outstanding character.
