We all think and talk about what we’ll do someday, but what if that someday could start right now? If there’s a change you want to make in yourself, in your life, or an idea that you have that you want to make real … this podcast is for you. After 20 years leading and coaching innovators, Certified Coach Marie McDonald is breaking down how great change-makers think so you can do what they do and take your ideas out of your head and into the world where they belong. We’ll teach you how to stop trying to get other people to like you and your ideas, and how to be your own biggest fan instead. You’ll learn how to ditch the drama and have fun with failure, to stop taking things personally, and to get out of anxiety and into decisive action when you don’t even know how or what you’re doing yet. Marie has used this work to go from bar tender to Vice President, to create the family of her dreams, and to start a multiple six-figure business from scratch within eight months. Whether you want to change a relationship, a habit, write a book or start a movement, it starts here on The Bloom Your Mind Podcast. Ep 74: Thought Trades

    Ep 74: Thought Trades

95% of our thinking is automatic as a necessary function of the brain to filter through all the stimuli as we walk throughout our day. In order to function, we need to have automatic processing, and so that helps us drive cars and move around our day, because we have some things on lock.

Only 5% are real conscious thoughts that we're actually choosing.

When we have thoughts that are creating results in our life that are not helpful, we can do some work to trade them out with a thought that is more helpful.

Today, we're talking about thought trades, and this episode today is sort of a refresh and a deep dive into a whole list of quick examples that are illustrative of the model from previous episodes.

The world can't validate our ideas because our ideas are only inside us at first. It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. There's just you in the world with your big, beautiful ideas that we cannot wait to hear about and to see.

What you'll learn in this episode:
The transformative power of thought management in daily lifeHow to manage automatic negative thought patterns that guide actionsPractical examples of 'thought trades'The model of circumstances, thoughts, feelings, actions, and results in shaping realityStrategies for enhancing emotional intelligence and navigating moodsMentioned in this episode:

Ep 73: Tools for Feeling it All

Ep 73: Tools for Feeling it All

I'm sure everybody has that experience when you're triggered or when you have a really strong emotion, you think you are that feeling. And that really happens for all of us.

When we are turning an idea into a real thing, we are going to experience all different emotions whenever that goal is something that's challenging and new. We're going to have to allow uncomfortable feelings, and feelings might pop up that are real, wild and that flood us.

In this episode, I'm going to give you three tools for how you can go deeper in allowing a feeling but not merging with it or blending with it.

Sit down with me today and let's make our ideas into real things that bloom the world.

What you'll learn in this episode:
The importance of having a clear mission, values, and vision for growthHow to identify and align your life's purpose with your daily actionsTools for managing strong emotions during change or challengesHow to transform our emotional data into actionable insights instead of being driven by themMentioned in this episode:

Ep 72: The Freedom of a Hard No

Ep 72: The Freedom of a Hard No

Here's the thing, every time you say yes to something, it means you're saying no to everything else. That is how we turn those shimmering ideas into concrete realities, by setting boundaries.

In this episode, we will talk about the concept of a "hard no" and how this clear, compassionate form of rejection can keep us aligned with our goals.

Where's your hard no, where's your hell yes? The better you get at recognizing them, the better life becomes and the better you'll get at following through on making your ideas real.

Stay tuned and get ready to give the world some hard NO.

What you'll learn in this episode:
Recognizing where  your hell yes and your hard no isHow to manage societal pressures and the artistry of making choices How to develop belief in your visionWhy it is easy to say yes to the things everybody else is doingMentioned in this episode:

    Ep 71: Compliment Tolerance

    Ep 71: Compliment Tolerance

Compliments are like beachside stones—lovely but we want to be able to have that feeling of calm and peace that we get from the beach, with or without the stone.

I use this metaphor to say that we can enjoy compliments that we experience, but we can't use them as a measuring stick for how we're doing.

In this episode, I'm going to offer you four different angles to look at this from. And then I'm going to talk to you about how we can follow our own hearts, to create new ideas, and to make change in the world by developing the tolerance to take compliments.

If you're ready to break the cycle, stick with me, y'all!

What you'll learn in this episode:
Strategies for maintaining autonomy over self-perception and life choices despite external validationWhy compliments and positive feedback shouldn't be a measuring stick for progress Techniques for sustaining motivation and progress toward goals, independent of others' approval or disapprovalThe role of childhood beliefs and self-perception in how feedback is receivedMentioned in this episode:

    Ep 69: Mood Boosters

    Ep 69: Mood Boosters

Telling a good story has the ability to move minds and shift perspectives, and this podcast is a powerful way that I’m paying that forward each week. So, in the spirit of impactful storytelling,  I’m sharing three stories that will ignite little “mood boosters” that I hope will help when you’re stuck at a low point, and lack confidence in the world around you as you go out there turning ideas into real things.

And what sparked the inspiration for this episode, was a chat with my podcast producer, Kara Gott Warner. She told me that she loves my storytelling, and the way I connect stories to the topic that I'm teaching and my ability to tie that all back to a transformation for you, my dear listener.

I’m am a big believer in generating the emotion to create the result you want in your day, in yourself, in your own system and in your life, and I think you’ll find my “emotional hacks” useful so you can make it a little bit easier to show up for yourself and re-wire your mood no matter what life throws your way.

What you'll learn in this episode:
How to empower yourself to remain resilient in the face of life's ups and downsHow to act as catalysts for a positive mood shift in challenging discussionsHow to maintain emotional sovereignty throughout the dayThe magic of the Gradients of Agreement tool Mentioned in this episode:
