Debate Forge Jon Phoenix

Anyone can have an opinion. Only a few people can win a debate.
In this show I walk through the process of transforming my opinions into actual arguments. Every week I find a contentious issue, then I try to develop the strongest possible argument for both sides and compare them. In the end, I reach my own position that I’m willing to defend.
Even if you don’t agree you walk away with a stronger understanding of the issue and hopefully you are on track to create your own arguments.

Building An Argument On Andrew Yang’s Universal Basic Income
For my first episode of “The Argument Forge” I wanted to discuss Andrew Yang’s Universal Basic Income plan. UBI is such an interesting policy because it is something that would have a huge impact on every aspect of our society but at the same time it is something that is really easy to understand (anyone can understand getting $1000 money)
Even if you’re someone that thinks the idea is nonsense, I think the conversation about a policy like this helps us start to think about changing the policy goals in our society.
