Brandon Houston was named the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Taylor High School in March, 2021.
Coach Houston has over 25 years of coaching experience. He has been a coordinator for over 20 years, running primarily Spread, Read-Option, and RPO schemes.
In 2005, Coach Houston founded CoachHuey.com as a way to help share ideas and best practices for the game of football with coaches all over the world. Coach Houston started his career in 1996 at Ector Junior High, a feeder school for Odessa High School. In 1998 he moved to Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca to coach the secondary. In 1999, Coach Houston became the Quarterback Coach & Passing Game Coordinator at Grapevine High School. In 2005 he returned to Bell County as the Offensive Coordinator & Quarterback Coach at Belton High School. After spending the 2007 season on staff at UMHB, Coach Houston spent the next 7 years as the Offensive Coordinator & Backfield Coach at Lorena High School. In 2015, he returned to Belton High School as the Receivers Coach for one season before becoming the Offensive Coordinator at Rockdale. In Rockdale, Coach Houston helped the Tigers win the 2017 Texas 3A Division I State Championship.
