Brem Phipps joins the JMO Podcast for this one. After being baptized into walleye fishing on Ft. Peck in eastern Montana, Brem has more recently shown consistent success in some of the most competitive tournaments on the big reservoir. Winning the Crooked Creek Tournament with a two day total of 96.3 lbs for ten fish. Jacob Ell joins the JMO Podcast after his 2nd place National Walleye Tour finish on Green Bay. The walleye fishing in Green Bay is nothing short of challenging during the alewife spawn that usually happens in the month of June. The third regular season event for the National Walleye Tour in 2024 tasked the top tournament anglers to compete during this annual event. Jacob along with his traveling partners Corey Heiser and Bill Shimota put together a plan for the tournament and when the horn blew on day two of the tournament Jake's total weight was enough for an impressive 2nd place finish. In this interview we get to know this Bismarck angler as he details the tournament and the meaningful elements to his strategy that allowed him to cash a big check.

Spencer Deutz joins the JMO Podcast for this episode. Spencer is a tournament angler from Fargo, North Dakota. He fishes many regional tournaments but is committed more so these days to the Casino Cup Walleye Circuit in the Dakotas. In addition to being a sponsored tournament angler and having a family and full time job, Spencer also puts on kids fishing clinics around the midwest. Most of them are held in Fargo at the local Scheels store of which he is partnered with for said clinics. After talking with Spencer I believe that he is uncommon in his commitment and devotion to such a quality program that educates young people on pertinent fishing topics. I also learned from hearing his stories that more local anglers should be able to involve themselves with mentorship roles as Spencer has with such obtainable outside resources and willing partners as well as the demand in so many communities throughout the midwest. We also delve into Spencers fishing wisdom including his decades of experience on Devils Lake in North Dakota.
