    In this episode, we discuss the impact of COVID-19 in the k-12 classroom and, how the classroom has been impacted by the pandemic including effects from mandatory distance-learning on students, teachers, and parents. We also discuss some of the recommendations to improve learning after the pandemic.

    In this episode, we are joined by Nadia Jilani-Hyler, a senior lecturer in political science, at Augusta University. Professor Jilani-Hyler teaches a variety of classes including Introduction to American Government, U.S. Foreign Policy, Middle East Security Studies, and Model United Nations. She also conducts research on economic sanctions, cyber aggression, terrorism, and government responses to COVID-19. Professor Jilani-Hyleris an expert in US foreign policy, the United Nations, and the Middle-East and North Africa.

    The Opioid Crisis, with Dr. Neil MacKinnon, PhD

    In this episode, we are joined by Dr. Neil MacKinnon, PhD, Provost of Augusta University. A pharmacist, Provost MacKinnon has practiced in both the community and hospital settings. He is a fellow and a past president of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. In 2010, he co-authored a national bestselling book in Canada with a primary care physician called Take As Directed. His fourth book, on the opioid crisis, will be published in late 2021.

    Before the COVID-19 Pandemic struck, most of the US was focusing on what was, at the time, the most pressing public health issue: the opioid epidemic. Dr. MacKinnon and Dr. Albert discuss this crisis in the US, concentrating on what it is, why it is such an epidemic, as well as what can be done to alleviate the crisis.
