Diving in Deep with Sara Evans The Cast Collective

In this episode Sara talks to two of the biggest names behind the scenes in songwriting (Melissa Fuller and Emily Shackelton) both of whom have had a myriad of songs picked up and performed by major labels and superstars over the last 20 years. The trio touches on the major problem in the music industry where the artist and songwriters are making the least money on the art that wouldn't exist without them, females in music, NSAI, the joy of motherhood, and much more!
About Melissa: Melissa Fuller is a singer-songwriter who has dedicated her career to writing, recording, and performing with a wide variety of artists across genres, she has had her songs recorded by numerous artists, including Patrick Droney, Carter Faith, Mat Kearney, Walker Hayes, Anderson East, Sara Evans, Zach Seabaugh, MORGXN, Mickey Guyton, Maggie Rose, and Lindsay Ell, among others.In addition to her songwriting success, Melissa's background vocals are featured on many of the songs she writes, and she has performed on shows like Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and CMT Artists of the Year. After a decade of writing for others, Melissa released her first solo project, an EP titled Whippoorwill, which showcases some of her favorite previously unrecorded songs. She now has several new solo and collaborative records in the works.
About Emily: Emily Shackelton is a songwriter from Biwabik, Minnesota. After studying at Berklee College of Music, where she won the coveted BMI John Lennon Songwriting Competition, Emily moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting. Her catalog includes cuts by Reba McEntire, Sara Evans, Jana Kramer, David Cook, Seth Ennis, Mickey Guyton, and Cassadee Pope. She has had several songs featured on TV shows like American Idol and ABC's Nashville, including Love Like Mine, sung by Hayden Panettiere. Most recently she celebrated her first Number 1 with the Carly Pearce breakout single "every little thing."

This week, join Sara (and her surprise guest) as she takes a trip down memory lane, telling childhood stories and her experiences growing up on the Evans' family farm.
