This week, I’m excited to share the interview of our thriving client, Beth Riedemann on her unique experience in my signature psychology-based weight loss program, Unstuffed.

As a yo-yo dieter who has bounced up and down the scale for over 30 years, Beth reveals how she was able to finally achieve weight loss success without counting calories or eliminating processed foods.

At over 50 years old, Beth was nearly ready to throw in the towel. Tired of calorie counting and waking up every morning feeling like a failure who couldn't do something as simple as eat less food. It was maddening!

    So what changed? Beth shares:

The biggest mistakes she didn't even know she was making as a dieter (HINT: you're probably doing this too) How being over 50 wasn't the barrier to weight loss that she thought it was (and what she did to drop those unwanted pounds) Beth opens up about her biggest challenges before and during the program and how the customized guidance and support was exactly what she needed (when historically she would have quit when things felt hard) How identifying herself as an emotional eater gave her the breakthrough she needed to conquer the real underlying issues that caused her to overeat The difference between celebrating her birthday (and other recent holidays) looks wildly different compared to her past (Hello, no more binge eating and feeling 100% in control!) Beth's #1 piece of advice for anyone who is skeptical about weight loss without dieting (and what she wish she would have known when she got started)
I LOVED this interview with Beth. One of my favorite client interviews of all-time. It's always fun to hear clients share their stories and let our listeners know what's possible when they have the courage to try something different. Not to mention, Beth definitely knows how to bring the humor and make an otherwise vulnerable topic, light-hearted and actionable.

EPISODE 9: Change Your Beliefs and Stick to Your Goals for Good

EPISODE 9: Change Your Beliefs and Stick to Your Goals for Good

ANNOUNCEMENT: To get a sneak peek into my signature psychology-based program, Unstuffed, join us for the FREE LIVE TRAINING. You can snag all the details when you register HERE.

In this week's episode of the Outsmart Overeating Podcast, we explore the idea is that the beliefs you have about yourself create your weight loss results.

Maybe you can trick yourself into going to the gym or eating according to your goals once or twice, but if you don’t shift your underlying identity, then it’s hard to stick with long-term changes.

When it comes to weight loss, most people start by focusing on outcome-based goals like “I want to lose 20 pounds."

But this is a surface level, external goal.

The root of behavior change and building better habits is your identity. Each action you perform is driven by the unshakeable belief that it is possible. So if you change your identity (the type of person that you believe that you are), then it’s easier to change your actions.

Naturally, things introduces an important question: How, exactly, is your identity as a "fit & lean" person who is mostly uninterested in food formed?

This is exactly what we explore in today's episode.

EPISODE 8: How to Stay on Track & Lose Weight While Traveling With Melanie

ANNOUNCEMENT: To get a sneak peek into my signature psychology-based program, Unstuffed, join us for the FREE LIVE TRAINING. You can snag all the details when you register HERE.

This week, I'm excited to share the interview of Unstuffed turned Masterfull client Melanie, on her unique experience in a weight loss program unlike anything she had ever experienced before.

As you know, no two dieters are the same. Each client has a different dieting background, circumstances, existing habits, and emotional eating struggles. Melanie was kind enough to open up and share struggles and victories with our listeners so they can see what's possible when they drop the weight loss obsession and focus on what truly works --> changing the way you THINK.

    Topics discussed:

After years of circling the diet drain, Melanie developed not-only the eating habits of the "naturally thin", but also how to manage emotions without turning to food to self-soothe on a hard day Melanie shares how she never identified as an 'emotional eater' and as a result, didn't have the proper tools to overcome instances of compulsive overeating and achieve permanent weight loss until joining the program How Melanie mastered her mindset and eating habits while navigating a demanding travel schedule that previously caused her to lose control or feel deprived due to restrictive diet rules Melanie shares how she feels confident in any dining situation -- socially, restaurants, holidays, and everything in-between
Thanks again to Melanie for being a guest and sharing her unique insights into the Unstuffed and Masterfull programs. If you're someone who has been dieting for 5+ years and feel like nothing works, this episode is for you!

EPISODE 7: Psychology of Lifelong Weight Loss: How to Master Your Mindset

EPISODE 7: Psychology of Lifelong Weight Loss: How to Master Your Mindset

Have you ever noticed how everyone in the diet industry sounds the same? Everyone wants you to eat more vegetables, get more sleep, drink more water, and exercise more.

I don’t disagree with this advice, but here’s the problem – it's surface level advice. It’s what the 95% are doing and it’s why you’re in the Defeated Dieter stage.

This is why you’re feeling stuck and frustrated while circling the diet drain.

You’re trying to make change from the action piece of your lives, but it simply doesn’t work and the diet industry is incredibly good at manipulating you into thinking it does by repackaging the same things over and over again.

On today's episode, I reveal what does work for lifelong, permanent weight loss. No foods off limits. No calorie counting. No boring cardio. And after working with over 2500 women in the past 20 years, this has been tested and proven. You're not going to want to miss it!

    EPISODE 6: Why You Overeat

    EPISODE 6: Why You Overeat

Once you’ve come to grips with the concept that all overeating is rooted in having an emotional experience, you'll need to learn how to work through them in a healthy way that doesn’t involve stuffing them down with food.

In two decades of coaching, I’ve never had a client tell me they’re comfortable sitting with their emotions when they surface — their coping mechanism is almost always a distraction; a way to numb or mentally check out through exercise, watching TV, eating, etc.

Because they are unfamiliar with the way the body communicates its needs through emotions, they can feel scary, but they’re not. It’s the fear of the unknown that makes them uncomfortable.

When we learn to invite emotions into our lives without judgment, we also learn how to make ourselves feel safe and secure.

Emotions are our friends. They aren’t always accurate truth tellers, and often don’t match the situation that made us feel the way we feel.

This is why observing them without attaching a story or narrative is a life-changing exercise.

Check out this week’s episode to learn the steps necessary to help you stop eating your feelings today.
