#RetroRadio “HAUNTED ASYLUMS” and more Creepy True Stories! #WeirdDarkness

IN THIS EPISODE: A man calling himself Roland T. Owen checked into room 1046 of the Hotel President in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 2, 1935. In just two days' time, he would be dead. But no one knows who killed him, and it has become one of history’s most popular mysteries – The Mystery of Room 1046. (The Mystery of Room 1046) *** Ghosts are spooky – but zombies are even worse. But what if you came across a ghost zombie? That’s exactly the terror Scandinavian Vikings had to deal with! (Ghost Zombie of the Vikings) *** Can you raise someone in a way to create a phobia within them? Sure, that would be cruel and inhumane to do – but is it possible? That’s what a couple of behaviorists wanted to find out… and so they went about studying on it by experimenting on a tiny child. (The Little Albert Experiment) *** Did a woman accidentally kill her husband because of a Bugs Bunny cartoon… or was it murder? It’s the bizarre case of Linda Duffey Gwozdz. (The Looney Tunes Murderess) *** "The voice sounded close, yet at the same time, so far away. It was the most pitiful and horrifying cry I had ever heard." That’s how a seasoned paranormal investigator described what they heard in an abandoned asylum. (A Ghost Encounter In a Forsaken Asylum) *** We’ll also take a look at a few asylums that are said to be so creepy, so haunted, that you would never want to be locked in there – day or night. (Five Haunted Asylums) *** If you’re a fan of the movie “Ferris Bueler’s Day Off” you might remember the “Sausage King of Chicago” scene. That person was fictional of course, and the title was played for laughs. But have you ever heard of the Sausage Ghost of Chicago? That too may sound like it was made-up for laughs – but no, the Sausage Ghost of Chicago is a story that is all too true. (The Sausage Ghost of Chicago)

“THEY SOLD THEIR HAUNTED HOUSES” and More True Macabre Stories! #WeirdDarkness

IN THIS EPISODE: Are you brave enough to live in a haunted house? If so, and you’re ready to make a move, you might find a good deal in one of the homes I’m about to tell you about. (They Sold Their Haunted Houses) *** The Nazca Lines of Peru span for miles and are visible only from the sky. These mysterious designs have sparked theories ranging from astronomical markers to extraterrestrial landing strips, challenging our understanding of ancient civilizations. We’ll look at the mystery behind them – and consider a few theories for their existence. (Mystery of the Nazca Lines) *** Armin Meiwes placed a personal ad for a volunteer. He was looking for someone to give themselves over to him… to eat. It’s one of the most infamous cases of modern cannibalism. (The Cannibal Who Placed a Personal Ad) *** On May 28, 1903, Dr. Francis J. Tumblety, a man with a deep-seated hatred for women and surgical skills, died in St. Louis. Intriguingly, Tumblety was in London during the gruesome Jack the Ripper murders in 1888, sparking speculation that he might be the infamous slasher. (Was Jack The Ripper From St. Louis?) *** Imagine a duel between two women. One a princess, the other a countess. Now picture them dueling topless. It really happened… and the reason for the duel? A disagreement over flower arrangements. (The Topless Duel Between Two Ladies)

“LA PATASOLA: THE ONE-LEGGED FEMALE VAMPIRE” and More True Terrors! #WeirdDarkness #Darkives

IN THIS EPISODE: You might think you’d be able to outrun a vampire that only had one leg – but you’d be mistaken if you come across Columbia’s hateful La Patasola. (One-Legged Female Vampire) *** Eight women were mysteriously murdered in Jennings, Louisiana from 2005-2009 and as the investigation progressed, the small town's dark secrets began to unravel. (The Jeff Davis 8) *** In 1924, five prospectors abandoned their site in a panic after what they described as a horrible, terrifying night-long battle against some strange, violent Sasquatch-like creatures, barely making it out alive. (The Mountain Devils of Ape Canyon) *** When Father Rocco Facchini was given his first parish as a young priest in Chicago, he was excited and anxious to spread the gospel to anyone who would listen in the Windy City. Unfortunately, the church he was sent to was haunted – and that was only the beginning of his tragic story. (Muldoon)

“The Mysterious Murder of a Disc Jockey’s Wife” #ShadowsOfDeceit

“The Mysterious Murder of a Disc Jockey’s Wife” #ShadowsOfDeceit

THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: On the morning of November 23rd, 2014, Andre Pugh returned home from his overnight shift to an unsettling scene. His Atlanta, Georgia, house was eerily quiet, and the usually secured side gate was open. Inside, he found his wife, Tiffany, unresponsive in the guest bedroom. Unable to wake her, he called 911, convinced something terrible had happened. Police arrived to find Andre in a frantic state outside the house. After securing his daughter Jasmine, officers discovered Tiffany and the couple's two-year-old son, AJ, in the guest bedroom. Tiffany had been shot and killed, with AJ heartbreakingly trying to wake her up. As detectives began piecing together the crime, they uncovered disturbing details. The house showed no signs of a burglary, leading them to suspect a targeted attack. Their investigation took a significant turn when they realized that Andre's knowledge of the break-in details didn't add up, raising suspicions about his involvement. Further scrutiny revealed a tumultuous marriage, financial dependency on Tiffany, and a potential motive rooted in Andre's desire to maintain his lifestyle. Ultimately, evidence pointed to Andre and his best friend, Adrian Harley, as conspirators in Tiffany's murder. Both were convicted and sentenced to life without parole, leaving their families and the community shattered and still questioning how it could have happened.
