#S2 E11: Rachel Fortune, Sustainable Lifestyle Awards

#S2 E11: Rachel Fortune, Sustainable Lifestyle Awards

This week I'm chatting to Rachel Fortune, founder & CEO, Sustainable Lifestyle Awards.
Rachel founded the Sustainable Lifestyle Awards in 2019 to address concerns surrounding the ethics and sustainability of the supply chain, as well as the perceived misconceptions around sustainably-made goods – a widely held believe that quality and aesthetics are somehow compromised for the sake of being ‘virtuous’.
Backed by some of the most formidable names in fashion and retail the programme has become the definitive award of its kind to verify and celebrate brands that hold both style and substance in equal measure. Its very existence is to champion daily change.

    #S2 E10: Eve Kekeh, Bundlee

    #S2 E10: Eve Kekeh, Bundlee

This week I am chatting to Eve Kakah, founder of baby renting clothing rental service, Bundlee. We're chatting all about the rental industry, baby clothing and how baby rental has been affected by the lockdown.
Eve Kekeh is the founder of Bundlee, the UK’s first baby clothing rental service. As the eldest sister in her family, Eve experienced the problem that many new parents face: babies grow, but their clothes do not. Babies outgrow 7 clothing sizes in their first 2 years. Eve set about to tackle the baby clothing waste problem, using circular economy principles to start Bundlee in 2018. Since then, Bundlee has saved thousands of garments from landfill and over 30,000kg of carbon. This year she was honoured as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs.
Eve has kindly offered our listeners their first months rental for free using the code: AGNES

#S2 E9: Chloë Stewart, Nibs Etc

#S2 E9: Chloë Stewart, Nibs Etc

This weeks focus is on food waste, I'm chatting to founder of Nibs Etc, Chloë Stewart. Chloë saw the amount of juice pulp going to waste while she was working at a street food market and was inspired.
nibs etc. is about making delicious, and nourishing sustainable snacks out of ingredients that would normally be thrown away, to fight food waste, and enable customers to reduce their carbon footprint in so doing.
Their first product is a delicious, high fibre, not too sweet, easily snack-able granola, made with fruit and vegetable juice pulp. They work with juice bars around London to collect their 'waste' pulp, which is packed with flavour and fibre, and upcycle it into sustainable snacks.
We're chatting about how to think differently about your food waste, the challenges of starting a food business and how Nibs Etc has been affected by the pandemic.
