Nine ski hikers disappeared in the Ural mountains in 1959. Their tent had been slashed open from the inside and they ran into Siberian winter abandoning everything including most of their clothes. When their bodies were discovered, two had crushed ribs, one had a crushed skull, and one was missing her tongue. The case was closed citing their cause of death as "an unknown compelling force."
