Apocalypse Now
Welcome to Artipoeus. It’s been a while…
This is a comeback episode. I stopped producing Artipoeus at the beginning of 2020, and thought I had said goodbye. But you know… in the 3 years following, I really missed it. So I’m bringing it back. Hello again!
If you’re already familiar with this show, welcome back. If you’re new here, Aritpoeus tells stories about art – kind of like The Moth meets the Met, or the Guggenheim, or the Louvre, or even graffiti on a street corner sometimes. I love art – I love the way it can make me feel, sometimes taking me into myself, sometimes connecting me to the world. Artipoeus is the bridge between.
And in this episode, Artipoeus visits Motherland: Ukrainian artists reflect on the notion of “homeland” at the Stadtmuseum Berlin. The exhibition explores the notion of home from the literal and local all the way to the global and abstract idea of home, where it is, what it feels like and what happens when you lose it… or someone tries to take it from you.
Recorded on the 505th Day of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
