    Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory (1961)

    Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory (1961)

Life is hard out there for werewolves.
You've got full moons, silver bullets, smelly fur unless you spend a lot on shampoo, and there's that whole killing other people thing as well.
If one were a werewolf, I would think that a dormitory full of young girls would be the perfect place to hang out. It's dry, it's warm, and it's filled with beautiful yummy things to kill!
It's like a Golden Corral for lycanthropes!
Join Hunky Dr. Alcott and see if you can guess who the werewolf in a girl's dormitory is!

    They Saved Hitler's Brain (1968)

    They Saved Hitler's Brain (1968)

When your boss is the most feared and hated man in the world, hanging out with him can really be a pain in the behind.
Instead of walking around with Adolf Hitler, why not just cut off his head and carry that around, like carry on luggage or some sort of angry hat box?

In this movie, our angry Nazi’s decide that the head of Hitler is a much better leader than a whole Hitler and decide to start down the road to the Fourth Reich by killing everyone in an imaginary little banana republic called Mandoras.

    Battle of the Worlds (1961)

    Battle of the Worlds (1961)

There are obvious advantages to being a grumpy old man.
Disregard for societal norms, the ability to say "Back in my day..." and of course, senior citizen discounts.
But, when you are trying to tell the leaders of the world that a massive meteor is heading to earth and will probably kill us all, they might just ignore because you are a grumpy old man.
Let's see how Claude Rains, in the twilight of his career, handles this dilemma, shall we?

To celebrate this most awesome of holidays, I am performing a wonderful essay written by David Colton, former editor at USA Today, and current Grand Poobah of The Rondo Awards and The Classic Horror Film Boards called "Monster Kids".

It's an annual tradition for David to post the essay on the above CHFB every Halloween, and, with his kind permission, I have recorded it so that all us Monster Kids will have something awesome to listen to each year!

    Enjoy David Colton's "Monster Kids".

    Frankenstein's Daughter (1958)

    Frankenstein's Daughter (1958)

There comes a time in a man's life when he wants to settle down with a nice girl.

Dating can be difficult for Mad Scientists without access to match.com, so they do what anyone else would do:

Sew together a lifeless female body, zap it with electricity and bring it to life.

Then have it do some light housekeeping, simple cooking, and of course, kill all your enemies upon command.

It's Frankenstein in Suburbia! Let's take a look, shall we?

    X The Unknown (1956)

    X The Unknown (1956)

There are times in an Academy Award Winning Actor's life when they gotta put food on the table.
Good film? Bad film? Who cares?

Hammer tried to capitalize on the success of previous Quatermass films, but creator Nigel Kneale would not budge. The studio renamed the character and filmed it anyway.

That's how we get Dean Jagger (Best Supporting Actor, 1949, "12 O'Clock High") waving around a Geiger counter and battling a giant blob that crawls up out of the earth and melts people's faces off.
