    1997 Revisited: San Marino GP

    1997 Revisited: San Marino GP

Things finally came good for Heinz-Harald Frentzen at the 1997 San Marino Grand Prix, where his troubled start for Williams appeared to clear with a maiden victory narrowly ahead of Michael Schumacher's Ferrari. In round four of our 1997 Revisited series, we look back at how Frentzen came out on top, what went wrong for his Williams team-mate Jacques Villeneuve, plus Damon Hill's woeful collision with Shinji Nakano, David Coulthard's comedy engine failure, and another podium finish for Eddie Irvine.

    1997 Revisited: Argentinian GP

In round three of our look back at the 1997 F1 season, we recall Jacques Villeneuve's narrow victory over Eddie Irvine, plus Michael Schumacher making a mess of the start, a big 'what if' for Olivier Panis and Prost, and an even bigger 'what if' for Jordan after their drivers collided while in with a chance of winning the race.

    Members' Q&A part 2 - Ugly cars, Benetton-Ford in '95 and V10 era misconceptions

For our next instalment of Bring Back V10s members' questions, Glenn Freeman is joined by Ben Anderson and Matt Beer. Subjects tackled this time include Juan Pablo Montoya racing for Williams in 1999 instead of Alex Zanardi, how Michael Schumacher's 1995 season would have gone with Ford power instead of Renault, what would have happened to David Coulthard without his 1994 Williams call-up, Ferrari's weird 'F1 logo' livery at Spa in 1999, and what we think are common misconceptions about the V10 era.

Digging into motor racing history with the hosts of our new podcast

As a listener to Bring Back V10s, we know you enjoy your F1 history, so we thought you'd like to hear about The Race's new podcast, which delves into other areas of motor racing history.
On this very special crossover episode of Bring Back V10s, Glenn Freeman chats to Matt Bishop and Richard Williams - the hosts of And Colossally That's History! - about their new podcast and what listeners can expect.
Glenn then introduces a section of the first episode, which is about Brawn GP and some of the unintended consequences of their F1 fairy tale. It's full of interesting details and behind-the-scenes information (Matt was working for McLaren at the time!), so we hope it's a topic that will appeal to BBV10s fans, even if it does stray into the V8 era!
If you enjoy this chat with Matt and Richard (and the excerpt of the podcast) please do search for And Colossally That’s History in your podcast app of choice and like, follow or subscribe to the feed so that you can listen to the rest of the Brawn episode and ensure that you get each episode of the podcast delivered to you as soon as they're are released.

F1 for ever ,

One of the best historical F1 podcasts available.

There are many F1 podcasts but few satisfy your intellect like Bring Back V10s. Well researched, thoughtfully analysed and impassionately delivered.

Big up

Hey guys! A great podcast. Maybe do an episode of the worst aerodynamic designs / “innovations” of the era and thinking behind them. There are some interesting and entertaining ones. A special shout out to Ed Straw, I’ve always had a soft spot for the special teams at the back. Fondmetal , onyx, scudearia Italia (thought they were rather successful) have a special place. Imola 91 was the best race (as I’m from Finland lol) and Ferrari 640/641 were the most beautiful cars with mansell and that big visor sticker and head held high. 640-642 could make a podcast as well. Also shout out to Gary Anderson for designing that beautiful 191 (I wish JJ would have driven that and had a different career path). And if you run out of topics you could always make bring back the (original) turbo era of 79-88 (ok Renault came in 77) My personal fav era of F1 as it was wild and the drivers were men and I think this got me hooked spending hours in a library reading old race reports from the magazines LOL and racing karts thanks to my dad. Also well done on The Race as a whole. Keeping it pure and on point. Keep up the good work and the fellow core nerds entertained. Thank you!!!
