Dr. Hawkins is a field specialist in agronomic systems with the Ohio State Extension and Dr. Wilson is the newly appointed State Climatologist of Ohio. He is also an Assistant Professor - Ag Weather and Climate Field Specialist, Department of Extension.

The week Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs and Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini sat down with Bernadette Woods Placky the Chief Meteorologist and Climate Matters Director at Climate Central. Climate Central is a policy-neutral 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is made up of scientists and communicators. They research and report the facts about climate change and all the impacts it is having on people’s lives.

McCall and Kirstie talk with Dr. Andrew Schwartz of the Central Sierra Snow Laboratory, UC Berkeley. Dr. Schwartz details the direct impact climate change is having on snowfall in the mountains. And hear why analyzing and documenting these changes will help us to better understand the effects it’s having on our lives and to prepare for the future.
