Del neoyorquino barrio del Bronx surgieron The Ghetto Brothers, formación de origen pandillero liderada por los hermanos Melendez. Conscientes de los problemas de violencia entre bandas, drogas y decadencia que vivía su gente, ellos apostaron por un mensaje de unidad, rechazando la violencia e involucrándose en la colaboración entre vecinos.
