Politics invading every aspect of out lives all day every day is creating a toxic culture of us VS them mentality where you pick a view point and anyone is disagrees must be run out of public spaces. It's really been creating intolerance for the debate of ideas and an increase in the acceptance of violence for anyone with an independent thought.
Movies and TV shows now inject politics into every story and usually to the detriment of the story being told putting in scenes that have nothing to do with the plot or character but gives a wink to a political side. For doing this, the producers and actors have an excuse for when the movie flops or the TV show has poor ratings. It's can't be that the story sucks, it must be because the people who don't like it are bigots, racist, and homophobic. It you don't like that movie or TV show it's because your a horrible person therefore to be a good person you must watch and make it a success.
Me on the other hand, I don't care what political message they put in the show, if it sucks, it sucks. With politics in every movies, TV show, and even sports, it's getting harder to find a place or something entertaining that allows you to escape politics, with a some efforts it can still be done. I spend two day a week avoiding politics to get a break. I suggest you find a place where you can get away from politics a couple days a week two. You would be surprised to see how much more relaxed and less angry you can be when your able to escape politics for a couple of days, clear your mind and maybe analyze information before acting on it.
