She went on to develop her own cosmetics line and to work with celebrities such as Kerry Washington.

Mayvis Payne recommends that aspiring makeup artists create a portfolio that showcases their unique style and skills. She suggests that they include photos of their work, as well as before and after shots to show the transformation they can achieve. Additionally, she advises them to include videos of their work, as well as testimonials from clients to demonstrate their professionalism and reliability.
