    • Marketing

Time is tough for organizations of all kinds and community-builders, with teams working remotely, meetings and events being cancelled. So on this episode, we talk about how communities and organizations can thrive in quarantine.

Our guest this week Louroz Mercader, an experienced city builder and communications professional with a progressive career in the public and not for profit sectors. He is currently the Manager of the York Eglinton Business Improvement Area. He is responsible for implementing the BIA's new strategic plan, leading the proposed streetscape projects and managing several key projects related to the Eglinton LRT Crosstown construction.

Recently, he was the Manager of Communications and Public Engagement at Waterfront Toronto responsible for Sidewalk Toronto - a joint effort by Waterfront Toronto and Alphabet’s Sidewalk Labs to create a new kind of mixed-use, complete community. As an active member in his community, he sits on the boards of Ashworth Square Cooperative Housing, ACCESS Innovation and RISE Tribe, a Filipino youth mentorship program. Louroz previously served on the board of directors of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Safe City Mississauga, Canadian National Exhibition, GO Transit Customer Service, and the United Way of Peel Region. He currently serves as Chair of Proud Politics – a national organization working to increase the number of LGBT leaders in public office and on public boards, commissions and agencies. Louroz has also worked for the Ministry of Health Promotion, Rapport Youth and Family Services, Elections Canada, Peel HIV Aids Network, MIAG Centre for Diverse Women & Families.

The episode is hosted by Daniel Francavilla, the Founder, Creative Director & Strategist of Now Creative Group.
