My name is Wyatt and I am the farthest thing from a relationship expert, but I love my wife and I think that goes a long way! In this podcast, I'm going to be discussing pitfalls and frustrations in relationships from my experience in causing them. There are two sides to every relationship, but the best way to improve is to focus on improving yourself! I'm going to attempt this by diving into commonly recurring mistakes/fights/contentions and how to overcome them through deeper understanding.

There is so much value in understanding another person. Everyone wants to feel understood, yet it's something that can be so hard to give to someone. Long-time friend and now brother-in-law, Gideon and I discuss the ways that we fail in this arena. We talk about times that we tried to make sure that we were understood first and we talk about ways that we blatantly did not try to understand our wives. We come to the conclusion that even just the tiniest bit of understanding can make all the difference and we set a goal to achieve this.

Validation is a very important part of a relationship and something that I struggle to give to my wife. This episode goes into detail on ways that I fail to validate my wife's feelings and how that causes fights out of things that would otherwise be non-issues. We're not just talking about the failure though - we try to understand the "why" behind the failure and set goals to overcome it.
