IVF Over 40 An Unfulfilled Promise From The Reproductive Community Taco Bout Fertility Tuesday

    • Medicina

We discuss the success rate of IVF when over 40 and the realistic expectations.

Statistically IVF for women over 40 is presented to most woman as a highly successful option when natural fertility has failed. However when you look at the data it obvious that IVF is not the magical answer to fertility issues when over 40. The reasons are due to the lower number of eggs and lower egg quality that accompanies advanced maternal age.

This podcast is not a pessimistic view of IVF over 40 but to provide encouragement that pregnancy after 40 is possible, but realistic expectations are needed to prevent exhaustion and loss of hope on your fertility journey.
