GLENN KAY FARMS, INC PROGRESS REPORT
BY JACK EVANS (aka J. Glenn Evans)
I am presently at the first Glenn Kay Evans Farm located one mile south of Wewoka Oklahoma (Central Oklahoma) and will be in the area during May and June before returning home to Olympia, Washington in early July. Have been making arrangements for Rural Water connections and getting set up for solar power. Just planted some small patches of clover that will hopefully spread. After a recent good rain it was a delight to see the green coming up. Yesterday, planted corn and tomorrow will plant watermelons. When back in the area in October will harvest and accumulate seeds for future planting and give away any excess production. We are also in the process of making arrangements with a local farmer to have his cattle graze the land to clean up the undergrowth and enrich the soil for farming. This fall a local nursery will be planting 18 fruit trees, three each of six different fruits. Had planned earlier planting of the fruit trees, but manager of the nursery had an accident and was unable to conduct the planting. He advises me he can complete the job this fall.
