Dan’s nose and palate is enveloped and awed by The World We Live In, a Foudre-Fermented Czech Pilsner from Threes.
Threes Brewing The World We Live In
STYLE: Foudre-Fermented 12° Czech Pilsner INGREDIENTS: Pilsner malt, hopsABV: 4.5%IBU: N/AAVAILABILITY: 16oz Cans, Draft (Limited)Stats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.
Appearance
Light to medium yellow with a thick, beautiful, white head.
Aroma
Fruit hits the nose first, with a light cherry/berry and hint of peach/apricot, followed by some earthy and herbal hop notes and a touch of honey.
Taste
Fruity and herbality continue from the aroma through the mid-palate with some fragrant, floral notes, along with a hint of woodiness and vanilla from foudre.
Mouthfeel
The foudre really presents here, as the smooth mouthfeel coats your palate with the soft carbonation and adds to the body.
Overall
I really enjoyed this one, as it showcases how aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel do not need to be abandoned in a sub-5% ABV brew. Pairing-wise, you could go light Thai dishes like papaya salad, Mexican, and even spaetzle.
Cheers and remember:
Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
