This topic is very important for music creators to be aware of, as Canada only has private copying levies on outdated technology and has not kept up with new developments in technology. Lisa Freeman from the Canadian Private Copying Collective (CPCC) offered her insights and explained what private copying is, what the CPCC does, and why Canada's Copyright Act needs to be updated to keep up with technological innovation.
