Amidst the COVID-19 global pandemic, there has been an immediate shutdown of live music venues, tours, festivals, and the latter. This has led me, Delaney Seven, to reflect on the past decade of my life, where the internet has led me to some of the most unique people and experiences. A love of live music and travel was synchronized, as my friends and I followed musicians on tour around the world. On this podcast, a few selected friends will be interviewed to reflect on the community we have built around live music- the drama, the hangovers, and much more.

#retired: Episode 3- Rob Gallardo, the synchronization of photography and clownery

Welcome back for another episode of #retired! Today I'm joined with Rob (@r.oberts), to discuss his journey of becoming a live music fan, and how that transformed into a career of concert photography. We chatted about his childhood in Cuba, moving to the US, discovering live music, and pursuing photography whilst touring the US and the UK for The 1975. Rob is an amazing example of how one can turn a passion into a career. After years of going to shows and shooting photos from the crowd, he has now been recognized by multiple artists and publications, and was just beginning his first official paid touring gig when COVID-19 hit. He has some crazy stories along the way which we went over extensively, and I can't wait to see what comes next for him! Check out his website ragsphoto.com to view his portfolio and online store! And of course, be sure to subscribe, share, and rate #retired on whatever platform you're listening on.

#retired: Episode 2- Olivia Toombs: the Midwest legend and big fan of butter

#retired: Episode 2- Olivia Toombs: the Midwest legend and big fan of butter

Episode 2 here we go! This episode was sooooo much fun to record! Here I am joined by my roommate Olivia (olivia778), and because we live together we got to record in person in quarantine. We talked growing up in the Midwest, traveling for shows in the Midwest vs West Coast, her career in theater, SXSW, and focusing on quality over quantity when being a live music fan. And of course- to take advantage of being able to record face to face we snacked and drank and joked our way through this episode as Olivia led us through her journey to adulthood, with some of our wild anecdotes as roommates mixed in. We hope you enjoy and please be sure to subscribe and rate #retired on whichever platform you listen on!

Welcome to the first episode of #retired! Aly Reyes (@alysnight) joins me to talk about her history with internet fandoms and how things peaked when she started gathering an internet presence in The 1975 fandom as ~mattysdoll~. We talk in depth about touring for the band across the US and UK, and how achieving validation from the band was a bittersweet phenomenon mixed with love and hate from other fans online. Come back next Friday to hear from another guest about crazy experiences within fan culture and touring for live music!
