A weekly podcast dedicated to our favorite sport - sumo wrestling. We chat about tournaments, current events, history and our favorite wrestlers.
Both Collins sisters are performers, improvisers, and creators and have absolutely no sumo training. But, they are huge sumo fans.
Having lived in Japan, Leslie loves the history and traditions of sumo. She also has a deep love for sumo karaoke singers. Laurie is fascinated by sumo wrestler fandom, the sumo training regimen and physicality of the sport.
Together, they serve up exciting sumo treats for sumo-curious fans. These kooky sisters share an enthusiasm for sumo and like all sisters, they work amazingly well together. All of the time. There are never any issues. Ever.

We were treated to a charity sumo event recently. Not only did the wrestlers do sumo for us, THEY SANG. And, our hearts always go pitterpat when these boys sing. Today, we are breaking down the music and performances at the Kanjin Sumo Charity event. Who sang? Who got the crowd going? Who looked like the perfect professional?

208: A Tribute to Akebono
Akebono was the very first foreign-born man to reach the level of yokozuna. He remains a bridge between cultures and will be remembered for his ferocity and size in the ring, his generosity, kindness and care for others outside the ring.

206: All Roads Lead to Isegahama
Terutsuyoshi just announced his retirement, and he was an Isegahama wrestler. The winner of the March basho, Takerufuji, was a a rookie wrestler from Isegahama stable. After a sumo scandal rocked his own heya, Hakuho and his wrestlers will go to Isegahama stable, at least for a while. Terunofuji trains at Isegahama. So do several other top level sumo wrestlers. So, who leads Isegahama stable? Who is the Isegahama oyakata (coach)?
