    In this episode of the Table of Life podcast we are at the Firefly Kitchens headquarters in Seattle. I'm chatting with Firefly's founder Julie, as well as Kristen from Urban Craft Uprising. Julie and I will be joining 75 other local makers, artisan food brands and kitchenware crafters at Urban Craft Uprising's first food-fest Gobble Up in Bellevue on Saturday, November 25, 2017.  (If you're in the Bellevue/Seattle area we would love to see you.     I knew this conversation would be inspirational, and these two ladies didn't disappoint. Listen to the podcast to hear more about how Urban Craft Uprising was "founded in 2005 to showcase the work of independent crafters, artists and designers — to provide a unique, high quality, hand-crafted alternative to “big box” stores and mass produced goods." We'll also hear what prompted Julie to start fermenting foods, taking the risk to start Firefly Kitchens, and how they are bringing so much to the Seattle food community.

Sal & Des's business is heavily influenced by their families and those that become family while working with them.     I have been a private chef for professional athletes, on the Food Network, the cover of Womans Day Magazine and am now the CEO of a food & lifestyle brand. I set out to create a healthy new family legacy after becoming a mom in my mid 20’s, accidentally lost over 100 pounds, and I can honestly say that healthy food changed my life and it has completely changed the course of my journey.
    Food is nourishment but it also is the cornerstone for nurturing family, culture, community and tradition. The table is where LIFE HAPPENS, memories are made, stories are shared, values are passed on, and the place where many friendships are forged.
