151: 5 Steps You Can Follow To Avoid Procrastinating

151: 5 Steps You Can Follow To Avoid Procrastinating

Are you a procrastinator? We’ve all been there at some point in our lives… yes, even Michelle! But did you know the reason for your procrastination can actually be solved when you dig deep down into the root of the problem? While we may not be able to completely eliminate procrastination, we can uncover the steps to limit the amount you procrastinate
In this episode we are breaking down the 5 steps you can follow to avoid procrastination. We dig deep into the root of the problem and give you simple, actionable steps that can get you on track to finishing your projects and to-dos.
In this episode you will hear:
How you can figure out WHY you are procrastinating and leverage that to get things done.
Why spending time to break down the tasks you have will give you more clarity in what needs to happen next.
Why your space actually matters when getting focused.
How to match your reward to the task you complete is a BIG motivator.

150: The BIGGEST Lessons This Podcast Has Taught Us About Productivity

150: The BIGGEST Lessons This Podcast Has Taught Us About Productivity

We can learn lessons from all areas of our lives. The connections you can make from your hobbies, personal lives, and travels can make a big impact with your productivity and how you create a better work-life balance. These lessons that we learn are often caused when we have a big undertaking and need to adapt (e.g. getting married, having kids, starting a big project). When you make the choice to begin these tasks, you have to find ways to make everything else work and feel balanced (if that is even possible).
This is the exact thing that happened to us when we worked to create this podcast. We made sacrifices in the beginning and we had to learn the systems and routines that would help us keep our sanity. We learned so much from starting our podcast, and while we are not telling you to head out and start you own podcast (more power to you if you do!), we do want to share some of the biggest lessons we learned.
In this episode you will hear:
How defining what is important will help you in creating a path to make it happen!
Why you need to find the right things to do versus trying to do all the things.
Why the systems you create are going to be your saving grace!

“You can’t make someone else’s choices. You shouldn’t let someone else make yours.”

    148. How to Press the Reset Button on Your Planning Time

    148. How to Press the Reset Button on Your Planning Time

We all love a good reset. Weekends help us decompress before the start of a new week. A new school year helps us to get re-energized for a new group of students, and a new year helps us to feel refreshed and ready to tackle the last 5 months of school. But what about those times in the year when we don’t have a break. How do we go about resetting during the middle of the week or during our planning periods. In this episode we have some of our best tips for getting you back on track. We want to share how you can get your planning done efficiently when you’ve gone off course.
    In this episode we share:
Why calling yourself out is the first (most critical) step to solving any problem.
How making excuses can be easy but they keep us from finding a solution.
The steps for getting you back on track.
Why creating a plan can help you build the momentum you need to keep going.
How knowing your why can give you the inspiration and motivation you need to push through a difficult time.
