study of the Spanish civil with a left mindset
Seth I enjoyed listening to your podcast, thanks so much for the work and love you put into it. I understand that you've been heavily influenced by your friends and family in Spain and this is a very controversial topic, so I understand that your tendency to see better moral principles in the frente popular. There have been throurough studies that have determined that the right won the 1936 elections, all the results are public, you just have to go through all the acts which is a great amount of work. On top of that, the left tried to end the republic with several coups but failed, and they wanted the war and saw it as the only way to impose their plan. The difference is the nationalists tried once and prevailed. The options were between a comunist dictatorship or a fascist one. Many Spaniards didn't have any option but to fight with the nationalist or die purged by the communist and viceversa, the rest is history. The nationalist led the successful coup yes, but the left forced the war. Your message at the end to millions of Spaniards is uncalled for, and it's what brought us to the Civil War in the first place. The left wanting to impose their only view of the history and the world. Anyway I enjoyed the podcast, thanks!
