    Episode 210 - DAYSH

    Episode 210 - DAYSH

DAYSH is a stellar UK artist whom we discovered through hearing her awesome track “Informer” last year! We’ve stayed in touch with her since then and this week we had our first real conversation on episode 210! DAYSH gave some background into her early years of creating music with a close friend and how it eventually set her on a path towards being an artist around the time that she began college. She gave the backstory on “Informer” and the real life events that she went through to be able to write the kind of song it turned out to be. During this time she also created more material some of which is still unreleased and she let us know when fans can start to expect those as well as some other surprises very soon. While balancing music with her love for fashion, being a tattoo artist and much more we’re very impressed with what DAYSH has been able to accomplish so far and we’re very excited to stay up to date with her moving forward! We thank her again for joining us!

    Episode 209 - Cyan

    Episode 209 - Cyan

On episode 209 we begin a small run of UK artists and kicking it off is our long awaited discussion with singer / songwriter Cyan! We’ve been a big fan of Cyan’s work for the last several years and have been waiting to get her on the show for quite some time which we’re happy was finally able to come to fruition! We loved getting to talk about her 2023 project “The Butterflies Died” which was one of our favorite EP’s from an independent artist last year. She told the stories behind some of the studio sessions and how certain happy accidents led to some of the project’s greatest moments. She also described how she’s been channeling her life experiences through travel and day to day activities into her creative side which has allowed her to keep innovating as she crafts her next batch of new material. Her message of intention and creating a purpose for herself through music really shine through in this discussion and we know you’ll be able to take some key elements with you by the end of it. Thanks again to Cyan for making this happen and we’re thrilled to see where this journey will take her next!

    Episode 208 - Jae Maurice Pt. 2

    Episode 208 - Jae Maurice Pt. 2

This week we brought back another Midwest native and former guest of the show Jae Maurice! After our initial connection through our friend J. Foster we loved getting to sit down with him again to see what he’s been up to. While still residing in Chicago he talked about the different ups and downs he’s experienced as an artist the past couple years. He described these moments as the catalyst behind his latest EP “Survivors Guilt” where he was able to shed different layers of vulnerability and take a more introspective approach in topic matter. The project was also brought to life with the help of some great online collaborators who contributed their efforts to a few of the tracks. The biggest point made in this episode to us was being able to constantly evolve and grow as an individual through your art and the importance that can and has held for someone like Jae. We thank him again for joining us and definitely encourage everyone to check out the EP after the episode!

    Episode 207 - Reesie Woods Pt. 2

    Episode 207 - Reesie Woods Pt. 2

Returning this week from his initial appearance on episode 108 is R&B artist Reesie Woods! In 2022 Reesie had discussed with us about moving from his hometown of Gary, Indiana to Atlanta and on this episode he explained why he’s now deciding to move back to the Chicagoland area. He described his time in Atlanta as a learning experience but one he feels he can take away a lot of positive things from moving forward. On the music side he talked about being able to retain his independence even after a label meeting in the city that was a first of its kind experience for him. While doing this he released not only his album “Ego Off. Soul On.” but also his latest single “Blackberry” in which he accompanied with a chopped and screwed version earlier this year. While he’s currently crafting his next release he’s in no rush as he continues to stay true to himself and his voice each and every day of his journey which we admire a lot. We always welcome Reesie to come back on the show again and always appreciate him for lending some of his time!

    Episode 206 - Adam Dash

    Episode 206 - Adam Dash

For episode 206 we welcome the host of the Sound Centric Podcast named Adam Dash! Having discovered his platform via Threads we were intrigued by Adam’s top notch content and his love for music all of which we was excited to discuss with him this week! Our first topic point was his love for Hip-Hop listening to artists like J. Cole and how he was able to begin interviewing different acts during his college years at Ohio State all of which helped spark his passion for music journalism. We touched lightly on the recent beefs in the Hip-Hop world and how they can help spark content creation ideas while also helping to engage fans of the craft with platforms like Adam’s. He also gave the backstory on the Sound Centric brand as a whole and how he envisions it growing and expanding into many different outlets in the coming years as he also currently looks to pursue a career in the music industry itself. We thank Adam for joining me this week and if you haven’t already go check out his work by searching for the Sound Centric Podcast especially if you’re a Hip-Hop head like us!

    Episode 205 - Haze Pt. 2

    Episode 205 - Haze Pt. 2

On this weeks catch up episode we reconnected with one of our favorite producers and entrepreneurs named Haze who originally appeared back on episode 50 in 2021! Since our initial discussion regarding his pursuit of new artistic endeavors Haze gave a fresh look into how he’s continued his mission to diversify and think outside the box in terms of his creative nature. He talked about some of his local art exhibitions over the past couple years and what he’s learned holding events both on a logistical side and from a place of true freedom and expression. Haze gave more updates on his innovative music tech piece called ITEM that we initially discussed previously and how the past 10 years of perfecting it have really paid off in huge ways. While still working on music he also revealed his upcoming collaborations with Jaden Smith and what their relationship has meant to him being able to connect with another like mind who shares a vision that’s larger than what the industry scope often provides. We feel Haze’s spirit and enthusiasm for reinventing himself everyday represents the real fabric of why art is so important in the human experience and we thank him for reaching out again to shed some more light on it for you all!
