Understanding Poverty: A Conversation With Eri Noguchi Another Progressive Podcast

    • Política

This week I spoke with the very first guest of Another Progressive Podcast, Eri Noguchi, a social worker working at the Association to Benefit Children, and adjunct professor at Columbia University and Hunter College. Eri works with children and families living in poverty, and understands what poverty looks like on a broad scale. Among many issues, we discuss the classic "pick yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality , the history of income distribution in America, the flaws in the method for measuring poverty, the ways in which poverty plays out in all aspects of a person's life, and the Universal Basic Income.  It's a great conversation that provides a comprehensive understanding of how poverty works, one that most people, left and right, don't fully recognize. So check it out!

Don't forget to subscribe to the show, and like/follow on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks for Listening!
