Continuing on with my mental health story as a desi girl from Part 1. Mental Health stigma is a huge issue within the South Asian community. Mental health has been something that I have struggled with for as long as I can remember. With this episode, I hope to start the conversation about mental health and share my own story. There will be multiple parts to this series since this topic has impacted me for the majority of my life.

Have you ever felt like you had to keep parts of your life private because certain topics are just too taboo in the community to talk about? Yeah me too, I have felt all that and much more. So with that, I invite you to venture out with me, Seher, into my own little world where you and I will be reliving some of my life experiences that I have kept a secret for so long. Hopefully, through this journey, we can unpack and explore topics such as dating, sex before marriage, the concept of “what will people say?”, abusive relationships, gender stereotypes, mental health, and much more.
