Divine is a DIY zine that explores sex and bodies through art, words and image, lovingly and explicitly. Divine's mission is to authenticate and deepen connections to ourselves and each other through art that explores and celebrates sexuality and self love. Only by honest and strong connections at this base level do we find empowerment to then form strong communities that can move mountains.
Divine 001: Sydney Southam
You are listening to Divine, a space dedicated to celebrating sex, bodies and our truest identities. Divine is a sex and body positive art zine made in Los Angeles, California. My name is Jillian Adel and I am an art director, designer, illustrator, pole dancer and creator of Divine.
And for our first episode, I have fellow pole dancer, stripper, and artist, Sydney Southam aka Phoenix Rose, to talk about her experience working and being fired from the strip club, her photostory and video piece made for the latest issue of Divine, and what happens when we desire a level of objectification.
