Protest works. There were sustained protests in East Germany before the wall fell like the Leipzig prayer protests every Monday. ACT UP used unapologetically confrontational die-ins to force progress on AIDS funding, research, and treatments.
 
Conservatives don't want their kids learning about Ruby Bridges or Rosa Parks.
