    On The Spectrum: All About Autism With Dr. Devorah Segal

    Dr. Devorah Segal is a pediatric neurologist at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Segal received her B.A. in Chemistry at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She then earned her MD and a PhD in Neuroscience at Icahn Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her pediatrics and pediatric neurology training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology at NYU Langone Medical Center. She spent several years on faculty at Weill Cornell, where she practiced general child neurology, providing inpatient and outpatient care with a subspecialty in neurogenetics.  She is now a faculty member at NYU Langone, where she specializes in treating neurofibromatosis and pediatric neuro-oncology.

    Aimee Baron MD, FAAP, is the founder and executive director of I Was Supposed to Have a Baby, a nonprofit organization that utilizes social media to support Jewish individuals and families as they are struggling to have a child. It provides a warm and nurturing space for those going through infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, surrogacy or adoption, in addition to connecting those families to resources in the Jewish community at large.

    Dr. Baron was formerly the Director of Innovation and Growth at NechamaComfort, and has also worked as an Attending Pediatrician in the Newborn Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital before taking a leave of absence after her third miscarriage.

    Dorit Rubinstein Reiss is a professor of law at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Increasingly, her research and activities are focused on legal issues related to vaccines, including exemption laws and tort liability related to non-vaccination. She published law review and peer reviewed articles and many blog posts on legal issues related to vaccines. She received an undergraduate degree in Law and Political Science from the Faculty of Law in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She received her Ph.D. from the Jurisprudence and Social Policy program in UC Berkeley. She is a member of the Parents Advisory Board of Voices for Vaccines and the the Vaccine Working Group on Ethics and Policy, and active in vaccine advocacy in other ways.
