Kicking off today's edition of the M.A.D.E. MEN PROJECT is a former gang member and once a foster child, now a Physical Education teacher in St. Louis Missouri, and the 2020 State of Missouri's Teacher of the Year, Darrion "DC" Cockrell.

 In this episode, Darrion talks about losing his father to violence at the age of four and how that impacted him, living in a group home, and his first encounter with a positive male figure in his life. Andrew speaks about masculinity regularly at schools and conferences around the world.

My guest today is The Director at The Academy Community Based Service, which is a program that works with court adjudicated youth in the community in 4 PA counties. He is also the director and court liaison for Delaware County, as well as the Defensive Coordinator for the Chest High School Clippers; where he is entering his 15th season as a coach. My guest is also my good friend and former teammate, pillar of his community, LaFennis Terry III.
