No evidence, a lot of drama

As a look into a deeply dysfunctional family, it’s an interesting listen. So many manufactured memories, rumours treated as facts and gaps in information filled with theories that serve the end result best. It’s like a soap opera.

But this was the podcast that made me realise the case for Hodell having killed Elizabeth Short is less than weak. There is zero proof. It does seem like the man was a piece of work, but even the more extreme sides of his supposed evilness come from a teenager who claimed she was raped by 18 men and then claimed to have raped her own brother who has no memory of it. By the time they started claiming the posing of Short’s body was in fact a homage to an artist the Hodell distantly knew (and the podcast makes it sound like they were close friends), I checked out. Absolute garbage.
