Episode 67 – Making the move into 8th Edition

    Hello listeners, Hugh here,

So it’s been a while, we’ve already jeopardised the monthly release plan for our triumphant return. Well, it all comes down to my fault I’m afraid. See, with Scott being busy I took on editign responsibilities and this has led to the delay thorugh myself also being busy (TL:DR workign in events is always stupid busy in May). But here it finally is!

In this episode, after a fairly long hobby discussion including both paint shceme ideas and Scott’s progress on his Deathwatch for the Jolt Hobby Progress Challenge (the store he works at the lucky git!) we discuss just how to migrate your army into 8th edition. This isn’t just a straight breakdown of the unit evolution under the new ruleset, but moreset how the game has changed and how to adapt both your army and playstyle to it. Everything from the much more chracter oriented style of lists to the greater reliance on cover for the longevity of your units, look forward to a bit of insight into the ups and downs of 8th (and what inyour army you can box up and never speak of again).

    Episode 66 – The Gentleman’s Game of 40K

    Episode 66 – The Gentleman’s Game of 40K

    Hey there Listeners,

So this episode was meant to be our February, and it’s not late March (Whoops!). Better late than never they say, so here it is. In keeping with our new format, the episode is about an hour long and we talk about what I believe is one of the most important parts of the game, Sportsmanship.

Basically we discuss what occurred during the Final two round of the Top 8 at the Las Vegas Open 40K Championships, where we share our thoughts and opinions on the situation (albeit a bit late) and then go through and discuss how we would go about being a Sportsman at any level of playing the game, from the most basic causal play right up to the top table competitive level, for what is an exception at any level of the game to have fun playing 40K. As always we do run through some new releases and rumours, hobby progress and games played at the start as well.

    Episode 65 – Back with a Vengeance!

    G’Day Listeners,

We’re back in 2018 and with a vengeance! We’ll be changing the direction of the podcast, the content that we put out and how often we’ll be recording. So we’re going back to a once a month schedule with about a hour to and hour and a half episodes, being more focused upon the hobby and our own happenings whilst covering a single spot topic each episode.

So, I won’t do a detailed run through of this episode, however we talk about what’s been happening as of late for myself and Hugh in terms of hobby, happenings at Jolt Games both previously, currently and throughout this year, whilst also going through all the codex releases and talking about one or two things that really stand out to us from that particular codex.

As always, you can get in contact with us by liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter and emailing where all the relevant information in on the ‘Contacts” page. If you have any suggestions for the podcast, whether it be content, improvements or anything else, then you can let us know by filling out the feedback form on the ‘Feedback’ page and we’ll definitely get it. Episode 63 – Tournament Reports for Days!

    Hey there Listeners!

I remember saying last episode that we’d try to stick to fortnightly episodes, well two months later here’s our next episode 😛 There has been a lot going on since last episode and not just hobby stuff either, so that’s partly why it’s taken soo long to get to record this episode.

So, in this episode we cover off on a heap of things from personal hobby work, games played, news and rumours and the list goes on. Without holding out on you guys any longer, here’s the episode break down:

    1. Hobby Talk – After a bit of small intro chatter, we get stuck into what hobby we have been working on since last episode as well as any games that we have played outside of tournaments – 0:03:33

    2. News & Rumours – We discuss all the latest new releases and pre-orders that have come out, as well as the mass of rumours that have come out with 8th Edition coming up – 0:16:23

    3. South Pacific ITC Rankings – We look at the Top 10 Players and Top 5 Teams for the South Pacific region rankings for the ITC so far this season – 0:52:42

    4. Tournament Reports – This episode we have got not 1, but 3 tournament reports for different events that Hugh and Myself have attended so far for the ITC Season. I played at Warzone: Central Coast back in late Febuary (1:02:22) and then Applecart Crashers 1650pt RTT at Jolt Games early March (1:19:27). Hugh played at Meta Busting March in late March as well (1:24:38).

    5. Listener Question’s –  We answer a number of questions that you the listener have asked us on our Facebook page. This is the first time in a while that we’ve done it, so let us know what you think and if you’d like it to be a regular segment on the show – 1:47:32

    6. Wrap Up – We wrap up the episode with a final few tid-bits of discussion – 2:15:07

    Episode 61 – OMG BITB4 Post-Tourney Report!?

    Episode 61 – OMG BITB4 Post-Tourney Report!?

    Hello listeners, Hugh here!

Geez its been a while! II want to start by apologising for our radio silence, as with Scott away its entirely my fault. With Scotty back in the new year we’re planning on setting ourselves straight and getting stuck in to pumping out new content for you guys. I’ll use this space to announce my absence from Cancon this year, I simply can’t get long enough off of work. However, there’s going to be plenty of content coming out alongside from us, so stay tuned for that. Today I’ve got Krausey and Arawn (Titan Miniatures Commission and winner of BITB 4) on for a bit of a round-table discussing the tournament as well as some casual discussion around the hobby followed by an interview with Chris and Ben once again asking them a few questions about how they felt the weekend went from behind the scenes.

Before you listen I will say to watch out for the audio quality during the interview as our software isn’t perfect all the time, there’s a touch of hashing when the others talk – clearly I haven’t appeased my PC’s machine spirit nearly enough!

0:00:53 – Intro ramble with me and John

0:13:05 – Round-table with myself, John and Arawn, discussing the tournament and some casual discussion about all sorts of hobby things.

1:00:50 – Interview with Chris and Ben chatting about how things were behind the scenes with surprise appearance from John!

As always guys, thanks for listening, and get pumped for Cancon – now an ITC Major!

    Cheers 😀
