The SKS was designed by the famed Russian arms inventor Sergei Simonov. It is a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle used during World War 2. In 1946 SKS production is shifted from USSR to the Peoples Republic of China (Type 56) to support the newly emerging communist regime.
