S1E4 - Relationships and Why They Fail

S1E4 - Relationships and Why They Fail

We all want to give and receive love but it can often seem like such a puzzle trying to understand how to make relationships work and better yet how to make them THRIVE.

This episode is for those of us that want to learn to develop the skills to have healthy relationships with those around us.

‘I’m not good enough for them’

    ‘I’ll never know true love’

    ‘Everyone always leaves’

‘I’ll never have a lifelong partner’

’They never listen or understand me’

’Talking with them always leads to an argument'

    Have you ever felt this?

I think we’ve all felt this on occasion.

But trust me there is a way to have healthy relationships.

The most important relationship we have is with ourselves. When we love and understand ourselves relationships all by themselves begin to thrive.

Love for ourselves. Boundary setting. Conflict resolution. Welcoming the love we deserve. Let’s talk about it.

S1E3 - Simplicity. The Fastest Way to Freedom.

S1E3 - Simplicity. The Fastest Way to Freedom.

The more I read books on philosophy and how to live life the more I realise it’s all pointing us back to that heartspace and allowing us to develop our inner ability to be at peace with what’s going on around us. Simplicity. Coming back to that love and presence within. One of the biggest healing modalities of my life. It seems like we have so much to do or address before accepting simplicity as a way of being. So many things for the mind to entertain. But hold tight. Seeking in all ways to un-complicate things and see life objectively and with grace has the capacity to give you all that you’ve ever wanted. Which is ultimately to find peace right? Really does register as relief to accept simplicity and grace when so much of your life has been about self created complications and drama.

Episode 3 of the podcast draws on knowledge from Zen Buddhism and their straightforward approach toward life.

How would living in the simplest life influence you ?

    A word from the wise:

‘A roshi person is somebody who has actualised that perfect freedom which is the potentiality for all human beings. He exists freely in the fullness of his whole being. The flow of his consciousness is not the fixed repetitive patterns of our usual self centred consciousness, but rather arises spontaneously and naturally from the actual circumstances of the present. The results of this in terms of the quality of his life are extraordinary - bouncy, vigour, straightforwardness, simplicity, humility, serenity, joyousness, uncanny insight and unfathomable compassion. His whole being testifies to what it means to live the the reality of the present.’ Kyoto

    S1E2 - Why We're All Addicted

    S1E2 - Why We're All Addicted

Addiction - or rather cycles of seeking relief from pain. Until recently was a big reoccurring theme in my life. A topic that holds so much misunderstanding. Naturally we think of addict in the alley behaviour but addiction has many faces - by definition anything that holds us in a cycle of behaviour that we find temporary relief in and therefore crave but suffer negative consequences and can’t give up despite those consequences is an addiction. Something that begins in pain and ends in pain.

Surely our approach as a society toward addiction is coming from the wrong place. If we want to understand addiction we must first look at the root, at the pain that caused the person to seek the cycle in the first place. Heal the pain, heal the addiction.

Is there a way out of this ?  This is a question we’ve all thought at some stage of our lives.

The answer is a very clear yes. We can know differently.

How? I don't claim any authority or speak like I have all the answers. But I do know some tools that have helped shift my experience.

Let's work to understand it together.

S1E1 - Shame and How it Binds Us

S1E1 - Shame and How it Binds Us

Here we are. Oh the sweetness of doing something out of my comfort zone. Episode one of my first podcast episode is out! Sharing this gives me butterflies in my belly - this is a huge outpouring of love and compassion and I hope it received as such.

As you may or may not know I’ve struggled with mental health over the last 6 years, it’s certainly been a journey. I’m sharing this in the hope that it helps break down the barriers of topics that often still go unspoken and only disconnect us further.

Although this podcast is intended for those of us on a path to recovery, I’d say everyone and their grandma is welcome to listen as nobody is exempt from humanity and experiencing the pluses and minuses of life. We’re all going through something under the surface layers and doing the best we can with what we know.

This podcast 'May it Bea' will be centred around all the tools and topics that have allowed me personally to come to a place of contentment and allow things to just be.

I wanted to make this available to those that might also have a similar story.

It gives me so much joy to share with you Episode One of my first season. Shame and How it Binds Us

    All my love.

    Bea.

    A word from the wise.

'Toxic shame, is experienced as the all persuasive sense that I am flawed and defective as a human being. Toxic shame goes beyond the shame that simply states our limits, it becomes a core belief, our identity. It gives us a sense of worthlessness, of inner torment, of failing and falling short as a human being. A shame based person will guard against revealing his true self to others. If we believe that our truest self is defective we will need a false self that we believe isn’t floored to cover it up. Refusing to except our real selves we try to create a more powerful false self, and in the process disown our true self. Total self love and acceptance of who we are is the only foundation for happiness and love for others. Without that self love and acceptance we are bound to the soul destroying, arduous task of upholding the false self.' - John Bradshaw
