03 Cementing Unity Blueprint for Life

    • Christianisme

This third episode looks at the devotion of the early church to the breaking of bread, specifically through the lens of Matthew 26:26-28. We unpack why breaking bread is not simply sharing a meal but being devoted to the Lord's supper or communion. Originating from the Greek word meaning ‘thanksgiving’, breaking bread wasn't a duty or task to be ticked off; it was a central part of the early church’s life and remains an essential component of a healthy church today.ABOUT THE SERIES:This seven-part video series takes an in-depth look at each of the values mentioned in Acts 2:42-47. The early church built their lives around these values, and God added to them. As a result, they are an example to us of how to build healthy churches. Using God’s blueprint, we learn how to build the church and live to glorify God. We believe that only God can build His church; He is the Architect, and by following these principles, life will flow in our churches, and the lost will be saved.“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” – Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
