EPISODE 25 | Hannah Home Educates | "the fastest way to make me do something, is tell me I can't do it" - The UKs leading home educator and gentle parenting advocate INSPIRE with Nicola Wills

    • Développement personnel

A note from Inspire: TW This episode discusses eating disorders.
Today's guest is a mum of 3, freelance journalist, owner of the UK's most popular homeschooling blog, business owner and hugely influenTial TikToker who is probably best known for her channel 'Hannah Home Educates'.
Hannah started off her career working in a pupil referral unit, teaching children with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties which is where her passion for gentle parenting and homeschooling began.
But how did she build this career?
From growing up in a 'normal' family and school education, Hannah developed an eating disorder aged 11 - partly due to the pressure she felt academically, which she then suffered with for 17 years up and says that despite being a single mother to three children - it is "by far the hardest thing she has ever had to recover from"
From always knowing she wanted to be a Mum, Hannah went travelling with her 3 children aged just 6, 5 and 2 - after hearing that 'your life stops when you have kids' - as she says "the fastest way to make me do something, is tell me I can't do it".
From a dream trip to Bali - somewhere she had planned to permanently relocate - to her 5 year old daughter surviving a horrific brain injury and then an earthquake - Hannah now lives in the UK with her 3 daughters.
In 2020, along with another home educating parent, she set up Curious Little Monkeys Educational Resources, a home education and fun learning resource company and uses her platform to help and inspire other parents.
